Enterprise-wide data & analytics platform leveraging Azure & Power BI for an American Retail major

Business Challenges
  • The clients existing sales reporting platform, for both it’s sales staff and management, was based on legacy technology which limited business insight.
  • The solution needed to be cost effective, mobile enabled, and extensible while allowing for greater data self discovery.
Solution Delivered
  • Datacrunch worked with our existing AM team and clients senior management on a funded six week POC. This POC brought together Azure Data Warehouse, Power BI, Azure AD, and Azure Data Factory into a next generation sales analytics solution.
  • First project: Upcoming creation, industrialization, and deployment of a 36,000 seat sales reporting replacement based on Azure (Power BI / Azure Data Warehouse).
  • Other projects: Greatly increased interest in Azure based solutions at the client.
Benefits Delivered
  • The client gained greater insight into their sales metrics, including the new ability to track inventory at a store level.
  • The success of the POC increased interest in Azure at a senior management level. This included a movement towards supplanting other 3rd party tools, such as Tableau.
